Chocolate Orgasm Cake

Two years ago I attended a lovely wedding in Montana. The wedding was held outside next to a lovely stream and garden. The reception was held in an adjoining meadow. The food was amazing as was the entire evening. The major hit of the evening was the dessert. The bride decided she did not want a traditional wedding cake, but wanted to bake her own favorite cake. The bride and groom  baked a Chocolate Orgasm Cake for each table. There were over 200 guests and each table had their own special cake! It is one of the best cakes I have ever had in my entire life! This cake has many different names. I have at least 8 friends that cook this using the name “Chocolate Indulgence Cake”. Some top the cakes with a chocolate icing  and some use powdered sugar, but honestly the cakes are great either way. This cake is absolutely sinful!

Chocolate Orgasm Cake

  • 1 1/2 Sticks Butter
  • 8 oz Bakers Semi Sweet Chocolate 
  • 6 Eggs Separated
  • 1 Cup Plus 2 TBS Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Flour

Melt butter & chocolate together. Beat egg whites to form peaks in separate bowl. Mix yolks, sugar & flour and then add to melted butter & chocolate. Fold in egg whites 1/3 at a time into mixture. Put in greased spring form pan lined with buttered parchment. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Slight crust forms, but middle still juggles. Cool slightly before frosting. Turn out onto a serving dish.


  • 8 oz Bakers Semi Sweet Chocolate melted
  • Whisk into 1 carton whipping cream
  • Pour over slightly cooled cake

      The bride and groom also made homemade loaves of bread for each table. It was one of best weddings I have ever attended.

  2. OH, I know that cake. Here, we call it Chocolate Indulgence and it is ever an indulgence. but as small an amount of cake as this makes, I cannot imagine baking enough to feed a crowd at a wedding! But I know that it was wonderful. I make this for friends for BD cakes, but that is just one at the time. Have you made this yet? Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

      Yes, I have made it! It is now my very favorite cake. So moist and I love the dense texture… I do not make with the icing. I use powdered sugar on top instead. I do not put powdered sugar on until ready to serve it because of the moisture in the cake.
