I planted these beautiful hot pink Gerbera daisies last week just because the color was so pretty. Gerbera daisies were first discovered in 1884 in South Africa. The Gerbera currently ranks as the fifth most popular flower in the world behind the rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip. The meaning of the Gerbera daisey is cheerfulness, which is exactly why I purchased them! Gerbera daisies come in a vibrant rainbow of colors. Bright pink, snow white, sunny yellow, and ruby red.

One of my all time favorites in my garden! Great color too!
Do you ever have pest problems with them?
I love this picture! Its funny because I too bought Gerbera Daisies and have them sitting at my desk. I get a lot of compliments on them. So simple yet so pretty 🙂
If they do well I am going to place some on my deck also!
I have some red ones, love them! Please drop by Sunny Room Studio to see more pictures of spring flowers. Think you’ll definitely enjoy. (I mention daisies, as well!)
Red would be good too! I dropped by your blog and you have some wonderful pictures. It would be nice if you opened up the comment section!
