Montana Has Great Barns

I bumped into this wonderful barn a few years ago. What a find. I love that it consists of weathered wood and is not painted. It is a magnificent barn and you can tell they are giving it tender loving care. Out of all the barns I have seen, this may be my all time favorite. I wish this barn was sitting on my property! I would really love to see the inside of this barn and think if I visit that area again I will stop and ask if I can take a peek inside. (Click on photo to see larger view)

Love the barn! Here they are all declared heritage buildings so we have lots of old barns. They make great photos.

Next summer you need to get a shot of the old Kauffman place on way down Bachelor Grade! Also, take a ride towards Fortine for great barn pics.

Yes, wanted to do their old barn this year, but never did. I have one from 4 years ago, but did not have right camera at the time. I will Google Fortine and put it on my wish list of places to visit. Thanks!!

Beautiful barn! Do you think it is still standing? Do you remember where it is?

Barns are a tremendous amount of work. I met an old timer in Kansas who had a barn in fabulous condition, but he said he would burn his barn before he would let it fall into disrepair.

It was in Northwest Montana. This was taken a few years ago and was in beautiful shape. Old barns are a disappearing art… Thanks for dropping by.
