Old Barn In Grass

Found this small wooden barn last summer. It was very small and was in disrepair. It will not be around much longer so I stopped to take a photograph. Even though it’s days are numbered you could still tell it had been a nice little barn at one time in the past. If only it had a new roof. A new roof could prolong it for years to come. We are losing so many of the older wooden barns. The new metal ones are very nice, but they sure don’t have the personality that the old wooden ones have.

Wonder how much it would cost? You could take it down and use the wood in your farm house–like for kitchen cabinets or in the laundry room or even great bookcases in the den. I’ve seen this done before ad you won’t believe how great it looks! If it had some really good boards, you could make a really nice large cupboard or what we used to call a pie safe for the kitchen! I just hate to see it sit there and rot…

It is never cheap to put on a roof. I found this in Montana. The wood would be wonderful. I have a friend that did her den in vintage barn wood and it is so pretty…

I like it! It reminds me of some of the ramshackle old barns in the Ozarks where I was born.

I guess everywhere has old barns. I know it is so expensive to restore and money on farms/ranches hard to come by…
