Sea Smoke

This is an amazing photo of “Sea Smoke” on Swan Lake in Montana. I have never been privy to seeing the lake with this wonderful scene as I am only there in the summer. Sea Smoke is simply fog that is drifting above the lake water. It happens when the warm water hits the cooler air. This rarely happens on Swan Lake as it has very cool water. Thanks to C. for sharing this beautiful photo. It very much makes me want to visit Montana in the fall next year.

  1. OMG! That is hauntingly beautiful! Between your pictures and those of our friend E. who also lives in Montana, I have decided that Montana is a very beautiful part of our country–and one that we here in the south know so little about. The scenery there is “natural architecture”.
