Such a delightful post filled with warm, wonderful childhood memories. I had a big smile on my face while reading your post. So many glorious memories! What a joy that must have been to swim, splish and splash in the beautiful creek. Thank you for sharing!

  2. I loved reading your memories! The creek looks so serene.

The creek was fun and runs right through our ranch so there actually were many places to swim! The area where we used to swim was wide and had beach area and not as much vegetation so less chance of running into critters!

I loved your memories of growing up, which so echo my own. I reblogged this post on dmblood.typepad.com (The Curmudgeonly Professor) so my siblings could read it. I hope you don’t mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your fond memories. I would have loved to grow up like that. I hope that if I have children that I can raise them in much of the same way. :)

Thank you for the fond memories and a beautiful photo to inspire!

  7. Thanks for the blog comment, and yes I’m getting married. Really haven’t blogged about it too much. But I planned on sharing lots of details once the big event is over. I had a little aluminum bake set too! My sister and I would make mud pies with it.

It will be the best time of your life… Yes, I baked those little mud pies and lined them up on our front porch. It was full of baked goods! My poor mom didn’t even have a chance to have a nice porch!

  8. What a pretty creek! I definitely want my kids to grow up on a ranch or farm… You just have a whole different perspective on life! :)
