Weekend Reading

It is a nice cool rainy weekend. I am all nice and comfy ( in my PJs )  having the best marathon reading day. Have not done this in ages and I am enjoying every minute of my special time.

This morning I read Mother’s Day Murder by Leslie Meier. This is a Lucy Stone Mystery series that I very much enjoy. It is about a mother of four children who, of course, solves mysteries/murders. There are around 20 books in this series so far. This series will be enjoyed the best by reading them in order of printing. I cannot imagine reading them out of order because the kids get older in each book. If you enjoy easy reading this is a great series!

The second book I read today was Greedy Bones by Carolyn Haines.  It is a Mississippi Delta Mystery. Sarah Booth Delaney is the main character who solves murders with her best friend, Tinkie. I was crazy about this series since the very first book, but will tell you that the first book was different and it took awhile to get into the story, but I was hooked by the time the book ended. I have treasured every minute of reading this series and just finished the ninth book in the series of 12. I love each book so much that it makes me sad when I finish. I am now starting the 10th book in the series titled Bone Appetite’. This series should very much be read in order because Sarah has several relationships and where one book finishes the next one starts with information from previous book. Again, this is a series I cannot imagine reading out of order. This is one of my all-time favorite series and hope you enjoy as much as I do.

If I am lucky I will finish Bone Appetite’ later this afternoon just in time to start a new book this evening. Days like this just never happen very often. I forget how wonderful it is to just simply read what you enjoy and not have to stop!

  1. I don’t read books nearly enough, but when I have down time I catch up on blogs or watch The Bachelor – my latest guilty pleasure show

Yes, I never seem to have time to catch up on blogs which I really love. I love to read and that is how I “feed my soul”… Watch some TV in evenings with cowboy, but it is more like CSI type shows.
