Everyone knows I am not a fan of the winter season unless we are blessed with a day or two of beautiful snow to enjoy. We have had an extremely dry and moderate winter so nothing notable to peak my interest on my home front. Thankfully, we have had a few showers the last few weeks which, hopefully, will provide us with a bounty of spring flowers. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Winter is so bleak and the shades of brown, grey and tan seem to extend into an eternity. As much as I dislike winter, I always relish the promise of spring that will be coming with fresh shades of green and all the colors that flowers will produce. I am ready for spring and the joy it will bring.
The one burst of color we have at the farm in the winter are finding beautiful berries. They are my one simple “pleasure” when everything seems so black and white.
