Old Fences

I love many vintage things and old fences are among my favorites. Old fences just speak of history and character and make me want to know what has transpired within their boundaries. I love old wooden fences the best. Depending on geography they come in all shapes and sizes. Different wood is used in different areas.  […]

Montana Vintage Red Barn

Today’s photo is a beautiful barn that I love because it is old, big and red. I also like the character of the old white fence that surrounds it. I took many barn photos this summer and will be sharing them with you this year. I find old barns and old fences irresistible. I adore when I find […]

Girl’s Road Trip

Yesterday I took a day road trip with a good friend. We drove to see a dear friend who lives in a small country town nearly two hours away. The town has 4,000 people with many beautiful old homes from the 1800s sprinkled here and there. It has a relaxed lazy feel, although I must say that […]

Tribes of America Postcard

Found this over-sized postcard in an antique shop. It is not vintage, but thought it would be fun for this blog as the colors were perfect! I am happy to share a high resolution copy with you as the photo size I use for this blog is not really readable. If you would like a copy of […]

Best Retro Texaco Gas Station Ever!

When traveling on our “Girl Trip” Sunday (see previous post) we found this darling antique retro gas station. It was absolutely the cutest gas station I have ever seen. It was an original filling station from the 50s. Someone had painstakingly restored it back to the 50s. It is a full service station and pristine. I […]

Heirloom Quilt

I love vintage quilts. I am fortunate to have a few from both my side of the family and also from my husband’s family. My father’s grandmother and great grandmother were excellent quilt makers and I enjoy having a few from them. My husband’s grandmother made many quilts to pass on to future generations. I […]

Fabulous Farmhouse Find

Last year I bumped into the “Mother lode” of vintage chairs! Found three of these old metal chairs and each had a varying patina and look. Two of the chairs I kept with the weathered look.  Simply applied one coat of sealer to each chair to protect the patina. I painted the third chair in a […]

Vintage Plaid Tin Picnic Basket

Look at this precious tin vintage plaid picnic basket a dear friend gave me! Imagine what a lovely surprise it was to find this under my Christmas tree. It is going to fit in perfect with my other vintage farm tin boxes/baskets from the 50s. I just have a few, but this is bigger than my others […]

Vintage Cowgirl Movies

Lots of you may have never even seen an old Dale Evans/Roy Rogers movie! I grew up in a very small town where finding things to do were limited. The one thing we could always count on is going to the picture show or the drive in. Many times they showed old westerns and my […]

Vintage Tin Picnic Baskets

I have a passion for nearly everything from the 50s. I really love the antique vintage tin picnic baskets and vintage bread boxes. Here are two examples of the bread boxes. I just have a couple of these, but would love to have lots of them! Saw a darling picture in magazine where they had stacked […]

Farmers Market Truck

This is the coolest truck I have seen in years. Spotted it in Montana at a produce market. It just makes a statement! The owner of the truck delivers his produce and plants in this truck. What a treasure he has in being the owner of this vintage truck.

Bike Heaven

Saw this darling old vintage fence with the old bikes attached to it. Very cute. Unfortunately, there was a huge “For Sale” sign posted on the property. I suspect the fence and bikes will be torn down soon. But, for now it is charming in it’s own strange way.
