I found a fantastic new website and for all you nature people out there who live in the country, northwest, ski or beach areas or simply have a weekend cabin/farmhouse/lake house. This site is definitely for you. Chandler 4 Corners offers beautiful hand hooked pillows as well as rugs, runners and throws. Great for cowboy, lodge/log cabin, farmhouse. I […]
I love vintage quilts. I am fortunate to have a few from both my side of the family and also from my husband’s family. My father’s grandmother and great grandmother were excellent quilt makers and I enjoy having a few from them. My husband’s grandmother made many quilts to pass on to future generations. I […]
Last year I bumped into the “Mother lode” of vintage chairs! Found three of these old metal chairs and each had a varying patina and look. Two of the chairs I kept with the weathered look. Simply applied one coat of sealer to each chair to protect the patina. I painted the third chair in a […]
This is a cute retro cowboy lampshade that we have in the kids farm guest room. I love the look of the 50’s material. It is so much fun that adorable accessories are available on the market today. Glad that vintage 50’s is in!
We call these three deer “The Girls” and they reside in a small guest room in our farmhouse. When friends visit, many stay in this special room, we affectionately call “The Lodge Room”. This is extremely misleading since it is such tiny room. None of our guests ever complain so guess they find it sufficient for a short visit. We have a special couple who […]
Look at this precious tin vintage plaid picnic basket a dear friend gave me! Imagine what a lovely surprise it was to find this under my Christmas tree. It is going to fit in perfect with my other vintage farm tin boxes/baskets from the 50s. I just have a few, but this is bigger than my others […]
I have a passion for nearly everything from the 50s. I really love the antique vintage tin picnic baskets and vintage bread boxes. Here are two examples of the bread boxes. I just have a couple of these, but would love to have lots of them! Saw a darling picture in magazine where they had stacked […]
I am crazy about “junk”, but it must be cute junk! Well… at least cute to me. This is a baby blue vintage enamel pail that I found at a antique store. It sits in my bedroom and serves as a magazine holder for all my Texas Highways magazines and it is one of my favorite things! […]
I love a good bargain! Got this old 50s metal stool at a junk store for $2. It was rusty and one leg broken. A little work on leg & almond spray paint and it is good as new…nearly. Next summer it will make a cool plant stand on my porch.
This rabbit stays under our Oak trees in the summer. Love this pot and usually stick a plant into it which looks great. It is time for me to put him up for the winter. I have never seen another one like him so want him to last a long time. I wish I could […]
I just finished putting tung oil on my bench to prepare it for winter. Also purchased a nice bench cover to protect the bench. Found this cute pillow and put it back for next spring where it will sit on the porch bench! Wow, is that planning ahead or what? True story is I walked in […]
This cute green cowboy material is actually from the 1950s! It is the real thing and not a new retro fabric. I found this in an antique store. I actually knew more than one person who had this fabric in the 1950s in the small town where I grew up!
This is a cute blanket throw in retro cowboy. I love these materials. I would not want an entire room in them, but a piece here and there as an accent is nice.
