Wordless Wednesday

Love spring gardens! Attended an event last week and they had a lovely garden. Loving the rocks used as backdrop to garden. Happy pot of flowers! Indian Blankets in a home garden. Love this. Usually just see them on the side of road as wildflowers!

Great Gardening Tip

We have had a week of warm sunny weather which means I get a case of spring fever! This always involves doing spring planting in all my empty pots. This weekend I planted some Mexican Feather Grass and a few Yuccas. Before I add my potting soil this is what I add to each pot. […]

Sunshine and Sunflowers

Most of you know that sunflowers bring much “sunshine” into my life. I love them. They are so simple and there are many flowers perhaps prettier, but I find the simplicity in sunflowers suit me perfectly. This spring I was not able to plant any sunflowers.  We have a huge jar full of many different varieties […]

Garden Pond

It remains parched here, but Montana weather is absolutely beautiful. I have a friend who has a lovely Montana garden. She also has a beautiful little stream which trickles throughout her back yard. Her lovely garden is planted along the little stream. You can only imagine what a lovely sight it is. Each year she adds something new. She added this little […]

Garlic is Good

I love garlic in basically most any food except for desserts! The only thing I love more is the garlic when it is growing in a garden. Garlic is a simple work of art! Every garden should have garlic to enhance the look of one’s garden. Last summer, I visited a garden that had a […]

Montana May Tulips

Are these not the most beautiful tulips you have ever seen? One of my friends grows them in her vegetable garden which is protected from the deer. They were extra lovely!

The Garden Scoop

Cowboy came home with these in early spring. They may be hands down the best gardening tool I have ever had. So easy and so cheap! Each scoop has a place to fit over your hand. Every spring when my live oak leaves fall I rake them up into huge piles then use my hands and a […]

Thought I would post a few more flowers from garden visit last week. Things are so very brown around farm that the flowers are the only colorful things I have seen. I am very much missing my beautiful green spring and our beautiful wildflowers here at farm. However, the cactus look like they will be blooming […]

Monet’s Garden

Last October my good friend traveled to France. She visited Monet’s Garden which is located in Giverny, France which is 50 miles from Paris. She took a few photos for me while visiting the garden. This was a huge honor because my friend does not take photos…ever. I really love that she knew I would want […]

Summer Gardens

This is a favorite photo I took a few years ago at a friend’s home. Simple, yet so beautiful. Montana has the prettiest gardens anywhere. I love the mixture of flowers and grasses.

Cowboy’s Last Sunflower

Cowboy planted all our sunflowers this year. Our sunflowers had a hard time this summer with the extreme summer heat.  This summer was really too hot and we found them very wilted more than once. Cowboy snapped this photo this week of our very last sunflower. I really love our sunflowers and already planning to add more next […]

Gerbera Daisey To Brighten Your Day

I planted these beautiful hot pink Gerbera daisies last week just because the color was so pretty. Gerbera daisies were first discovered in 1884 in South Africa. The Gerbera currently ranks as the fifth most popular flower in the world behind the rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip. The meaning of the Gerbera daisey is cheerfulness, […]
