We have a huge crop of Indian Blankets at the farm this year and ya”ll know they are my favorites. Yesterday I spent hours taking photos and simply soaking up the beauty. I was walking in a pasture and found this little beauty growing around some rocks. She was just a little different than most […]
Our Indian Blankets (Gaillardia) are drying up this week much to my dismay. These wildflowers are at the top of my “love” list and every May and June I enjoy their color at the farm. The colors are brilliant. I love the vivid red, orange and yellow combination. They pop up every spring and are found […]
No one can relish the signs of spring more than me. The first glint of jonquils peeking out of the soil searching for warm sun to pull them upwards is always amazing. Longer days. Warm breezes. Warmer nights. Rain Showers, Budding leaves. Light jackets. New farm babies. Flip flops. Working in garden. Preparing yard. Spring personally brings me […]
Love spring gardens! Attended an event last week and they had a lovely garden. Loving the rocks used as backdrop to garden. Happy pot of flowers! Indian Blankets in a home garden. Love this. Usually just see them on the side of road as wildflowers!

They are very common and grow in all states except for eight. Even on drought years, we can usually count on Tickseed to bloom.

It is unusually warm today which is making me very ready for spring flowers. No wildflowers last spring which was so disappointing. I am so very hopeful that this spring we will have roadsides and fields full of pretty flowers. I am dreaming of yellows, oranges, reds, pinks, purples and whites. My camera will be […]

I imagine the bluebonnets will be fairly scare this year. Maybe next year will bring the rain we need for beautiful spring flowers. On […]
