They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes the list of reasons why all cowgirls should move there immediately! From the almost too-large cowboy hats to the spurs hanging from their boots, and even that warm, southern hospitality, there is no one reason to move to Texas. Instead, there is a multitude of positive aspects that should lead you to make this decision.

1. Affordability

Compared to the average cost of living in the United States, it’s much lower in Texas! And, to boot, there is no personal income or corporate income tax.

If that’s not reason enough to high tail it to Texas, the unemployment rate is also lower than the national average!

2. Nature

Cowgirls have always felt strong ties to nature, especially when it looks as beautiful as it does in Texas. From the historical Enchanted Rock State Natural Park to the Padre Island National Seashore, there is perhaps a no better place to take in the natural scenery that the United States has to offer.

3. Barbecue Treats Galore

Known for its excellent barbecue, cowgirls will find solace in all the tasty BBQ treats the state of Texas offers. There are top BBQ restaurants all over Texas, including Franklin Barbecue in Austin and Louie Mueller Barbecue in Amarillo.

4. Rapidly Growing Urban Centers

Sometimes cowgirls like to ditch their cowboy boots and explore the fascinating cities in the U.S., and Texas has many to choose from. According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the great state of Texas has the most cities with the fastest growth.

5. Sweet Southern Hospitality

As mentioned earlier, Texas residents are known for their polite, kind attitudes toward everyone, even strangers. This southern hospitality is paramount to any cowgirl’s success in a new state. This extends to invitations to parties and gatherings, which are a dime a dozen between neighbors and friends in Texas.

6. Warm Weather

While not for everyone, many cowgirls enjoy the weather benefits that Texas has to offer. In the summer months, the temperature can range from 80 degrees up to 100. During the other months, the heat is a little more bearable, with lots of sunshine and very little snow for the most part.

7. Great Sports

For cowgirls who are sports fans, there is no better place to root for than your hometown. If you decide to make your hometown somewhere in Texas, you’ll have a grand array to choose from.

Between the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans for football, the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros for baseball, and the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, and the Houston Rockets for basketball, you have a smorgasbord of teams to choose from.

8. Seeking Higher Education?

There are over 200 colleges and universities in Texas. If you’re a cowgirl looking to continue your education, Texas has a wide variety of options to look at and try out!
